About Us

Aerontec was formed in order to be a distributor of composite materials and technology here in South Africa. The company was started in February 2002.

Aerontec is situated in Claremont, Cape Town, with a door-to-door road service to anywhere in South Africa.

We pride ourselves not only in the distribution and supply of composite and related products, but also in the technical service we offer.

Aerontec has been involved, and is still involved with various projects and tasks; such as:

  • The South African Antarctic Expedition Base (SANAE 4)
  • The British Antarctic Base (Halley 6)
  • Supply of all composite materials for the “Sling 2″ and “Sling 4″ aircraft
  • Material supply of “SKA” dishes in the Karoo
  • Structural composite panels for the new Cape Town container quay
  • Cape Town Municipality Water storage units at Faure
  • Development of epoxy coatings for the refurbishment of wine tanks
  • “Solar Power” filament winding plant in Botswana
  • Koeberg Nuclear Plant for the containment of nuclear by-products in the removal of the spent fuel rods
  • Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town
  • South African Maritime Safety Authority (Composite Material only)
  • Refurbishment of water canals in Indonesia
  • Aircraft programs (eg. Airbus 400M)

Graham Blyth (Owner)
Graham has been involved in composites and related industries since 1979. Graham has a National Diploma in Plastics Technology and a Diploma in Business Administration.

Lawrie Droomer (Technical Manager)
Lawrie has been involved in composites since 1988. Lawrie has a National Diploma in Mechanical engineering.

Phillip Mbizo (Technical storeman)
Phillip has been involved as a storeman and technical assistant since the inception of Aerontec.

Edward (Technical assistant & Driver)
Edward is Aerontec’s driver, delivering goods all over the peninsula.

Nazlee Ockhuis (Office manager)
Nazlee has been in the composites field since 1990, having worked as a receptionist, technical sales, and now she is the office manager for Aerontec.
