Hey there,
There’s exciting momentum at Aerontec. From the launch of our new website to the expansion of our business units and the introduction of lower-carbon material solutions, we’re continuing to evolve, with the same commitment to performance, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
Here’s what’s new:
A New Digital Home – Showcasing the Full Aerontec Offering
Our new website is now live, and it reflects who Aerontec is today.
While Advanced Composites remains at the core of our business, our capabilities have grown significantly. The new platform introduces our expanded structure and makes it easier for customers to engage with the right technical team across our specialised divisions.
In addition to Advanced Composites, Aerontec now includes:
- Plastics: Engineering and industrial plastic materials for demanding applications
- Performance Rubber: High-performance rubber solutions across multiple industries
- Speciality Chemicals: Tailored chemical solutions for industrial and manufacturing environments
The new site offers improved navigation, clearer product segmentation, and a more detailed look at our technical expertise across sectors.
As our business evolves, so does the way we connect with you. We invite you to explore the new platform and discover how Aerontec continues to grow, while staying grounded in technical excellence and service.
Mycell EcoBlue PVC Structural Foam - Raising the Sustainability Benchmark
Aerontec is setting the sustainability benchmark for advanced composites in Sub-Saharan Africa with the introduction of Mycell EcoBlue PVC structural foam from Maricell to the Southern African market.
EcoBlue delivers the same mechanical performance and processing behaviour as conventional PVC foam, but with a significantly reduced cradle-to-gate carbon footprint. It incorporates raw materials derived from agricultural and industrial waste streams and is produced using renewable energy sources.
The concept is similar to Sicomin’s GreenPoxy® range – transforming waste-derived inputs into high-performance composite materials without compromising structural integrity.
What this means for you:
- Lower Scope 1 & 2 emissions
- Reduced reliance on virgin petrochemicals
- Stronger ESG positioning for export and OEM tenders
- Future alignment with tightening environmental regulation
Aerontec is committed to leading sustainable material innovation in Sub-Saharan Africa — not waiting for it.
Aerontec Lightweight Composite Panels - Engineered Weight Reduction
Weight matters – whether in marine, transport, or specialised industrial builds.
Aerontec now manufactures fully customised lightweight structural panels, engineered to meet your specific stiffness, strength, and weight targets. By bonding selected Okoume marine plywood or Flexiply face sheets to a structural foam core, we create panels that deliver the rigidity of traditional plywood constructions, at a fraction of the mass.
An 18mm solid plywood sheet typically weighs around 24kg.
A foam-cored composite panel can reduce that weight by more than 50%, while maintaining structural integrity.
For customers prioritising sustainability, we offer PET core options from Airex, delivering excellent mechanical performance with improved environmental credentials.
Where minimum weight and maximum structural efficiency are critical, we utilise PVC structural foam from Maricell’s Mycell range, proven in demanding marine and transport applications.
Each panel is manufactured to your required thickness, combining the appropriate plywood face sheet and core density to optimise stiffness, weight, and cost.
Less weight. Smarter structures. Better builds.
